Virgin Flight Delay Compensation – Gordon, Cheshire

“During one of our three flights to the USA last year with Virgin Atlantic my wife & I were delayed three and half hours at Orlando airport with what was reported as a lighting problem with the aircraft, a few days after our return I submitted a claim to Mr Branson using the appropriate claim form only to to be told that a month or so later that the claim had been declined because the technical fault was beyond their control.
I couldn’t be bothered do pursue the matter so gave up on it until I read that a UK resident had won a court case against another airline for the same technical fault issue excuse and that it was within the airlines control.

I promptly received a reply requesting copies of my correspondence with Virgin and that was it, several updates on where they were with my claim and hey bingo a cheque from Virgin for £480.
