Ryanair Flight Cancellations – Customers Paying Twice for Extras While Rebooking

Ryanair Plane on Runway

Following Ryanair’s pilot rota debacle, many passengers forced to book alternative flights have had to pay again for extras which they had already paid for, meaning they have paid twice if they had paid to pick seats or take hold luggage. Passengers are furious, and see this as adding insult to injury after already being massively inconvenienced by the airline.

Ryanair said it is aware of the issue, and that any passengers double-charged will be offered refunds.

Consumer rights group Which! Called the situation ‘outrageous’, and urged the airline to swiftly issue refunds.

Ryanair’s chief marketing officer, Kenny Jacobs, said, “We are aware of this issue and any customer who has been double charged for bags or allocated seating will be refunded.”

Big thanks for the £304.70 transferred to my bank account today. My claim related to a three-leg flight from Norwich UK to Phoenix USA via Schiphol. The CAA suggested I had a good case but could do nothing because the delay occurred within Dutch jurisdiction. I twice did battle with KLM/Delta myself but they would not budge. Another claims firm tried but threw in the towel. So congratulations to Claim4Flights for taking it on and winning – and for getting the money transferred into my bank account within two days of notification. Very impressed!
