Qatar Flights Suspended due to Terror Threat

Etihad Plane

Etihad Airways, Emirates and FlyDubai have suspended all flights to and from Doha, Qatar until further notice amidst claims of Qatar’s involvement in funding terrorist groups including al-Qaeda and Islamic State (IS).

With the horrific attacks closer to home flooding the headlines, countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are also keen on fighting the war on terror and have severed political ties with Qatar over rumours of their support to extremist Islamic Groups.

Flights will be cancelled as of today and the airlines are offering alternative routes. Passengers departing from the EU are protected by EU Regulation EC261/2004 and are potentially entitled to compensation.

A Ethihad spokesperson confirms, “All customers who are booked on Etihad Airways flights to and from Doha are being provided with alternative options, including full refunds on unused tickets and free rebooking to the nearest alternate Etihad Airways destinations.”

Big thanks for the £304.70 transferred to my bank account today. My claim related to a three-leg flight from Norwich UK to Phoenix USA via Schiphol. The CAA suggested I had a good case but could do nothing because the delay occurred within Dutch jurisdiction. I twice did battle with KLM/Delta myself but they would not budge. Another claims firm tried but threw in the towel. So congratulations to Claim4Flights for taking it on and winning – and for getting the money transferred into my bank account within two days of notification. Very impressed!
