British Airways Worldwide IT Systems Failure – Flights Delay and Cancelled, Thousands Affected.

A Worldwide British Airways IT systems failure has caused thousands of people to have flights cancelled this weekend, with catastrophic effects.

All flights involving London Gatwick and Heathrow airports were cancelled on Saturday and most of Sunday. Other major airports have been affected around the world.

Thousands of passengers have been grounded worldwide with all flights cancelled at one point on Saturday. Baggage has also piled up chaotically. On Saturday and most of Sunday, British Airways asked all passengers to stay away to avert further chaos.

The airline has apologised, and told passengers not to come to the airport.

BA chief executive Alex Cruz said: “We believe the root cause was a power supply issue.”
